Sacred Space
As a cancer patient I am constantly in treatment up at Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa. Unfortunately I live nearly 2 hours south in Punta Gorda and Arcadia area. And because of many of the tests I must endure in order to fight my cancer Moffitt has on many occasion put me up for the night in a hotel that is close by the hospital the night before tests to take the stress of me especially if fasting is involved or multiple scans. During my stay I have discovered a state park called Lettuce Lake which is literaly next to the hotel. For me it is a sanctuary. A calming before the storm. Although I have extreme difficulty walking even short distances the park has a nature trail board walk that make it easy for me. In all truth I am not there for exercise. Its really all about the visual aspect of the wildlife habitat. Alligators, heron, Turtles, blue dragon flies, butterfly's. Its a picturesque landscape where I am able connect my lens and capture nature within the moment. I have had birds dance for me over my head and allow me to photograph them. I have hobbled along this board walk a number of times and its always different never the same. And the pictures I have captured at least in my view are breathtaking.
